Day 7 - The Veterans

Having been in the hospital a full week now, everybody we knew when we came in a week ago has left. The mothers who gave natural birth were only in for three days, and today even the lady who had a C-section the same day as SY checked out (she was the one whom SY had to cut in front of because her water had broken).

So we were laughing about people being the old school people in the room. “Yeah, back in our day, they didn’t do things like blood pressure checks! They just came in and asked if you were still breathin!”

While we look forward to leaving tomorrow, it's for different reasons. For me it's because I’m running out of things to amuse myself with. Today, while SY was in the nursing room, I closed the curtain around the bed and tried to see how far up I could get elevate the two sides. As you can see in this picture, they can go up pretty high.

For some mysterious reason, this was really funny for me -- I think I nearly laughed myself into a hernia (though ever so quietly!). I also tried sitting in it; as expected, it was not very comfortable. In retrospect, I'm just glad SY’s doctor didn't come by and see me goofing off again – that would have been embarrassing.
