In the two weeks since the last baby post, things have calmed down significantly. The swelling in SY’s legs and feel is completely gone, and we’ve settled into a routine where I spend the night at the in-laws place, help with the baby at night, then return to our apartment during the day.
I’ve seen a lot of DVDs since then: Stardust, Die hard 4, I Am Legend, Next, Fantastic 4 #2, X-Men 3, and Harry Potter #5. In fact, SY doesn’t want me to rent any more movies, because I end up not being as helpful whenever there’s a movie on. :-(
I had a little bit of a hard time getting a new eating schedule for myself. I don’t really like eating at the in-law’s house because there’s still so much in our refrigerator, but I don’t like cooking at home too much, either. Eating out is easy, but I can’t do that for dinner, because I need to leave from work quickly and convenience stores are the only things open after 10. There were a few days I skipped both dinner and breakfast, just because I was always on the go.
But now, our doumi makes up a vegetable dish, and I take that home during and mix it with some of the sausage I have at home. Throw in some rice and I’ve got a great one-dish lunch/dinner thing.
So it's working out. It's just taken a little longer than I'd expected.
