Tax credit BOO-YAH!

Today we got our first time home buyer's credit in the mail. Needless to say, we are quite happy.

After doing the math, it turns out we played our cards pretty well. In essence, we got a decent house with most of the required furniture for no money down. Not a bad idea, especially since we'd have had to buy all the same furniture if we'd stayed on post anyway.

In considering what to do with the money, I've been thinking of taking advantage of another tax credit -- by redoing the windows and our two sliding doors with further tax credit eligible stuff.

My hope is that it will not only save us some electricity during the time we're here, but also make the place more marketable to potential renters after we've moved on. We'll see how that goes.
