Being handy

I've been making some forays into the world of home maintenance. First was the lockable doorknob to the bathroom. (We've been having a few too many "HI!" moments with our little guy.)

Second is the thermostat, which I updated from the house's 1982 original (the kind that used mercury). I think the digital one makes the place look a bit more modern.

Finally, I shampooed the carpet. And in an amazing moment of insight, we figured out that we could use our laundry spot remover on our carpet, too.

Nothing earth shattering, but it made me feel handy. Upcoming projects include filling the cracks in our outside brick veneer and gettting a second garage door opener.
