Lesson still not learned
The Pearls Before Swine comic today reminded me of an article in the Economist from August last year.
How strange that, in the wake of the Ferguson Missouri shooting, police departments here in the U.S. have yet to learn the same lessons as the U.S. military did in Iraq: that police effectiveness is won less by "shock and awe" than by simply talking to people.
Power does not equate to civil control.
