Operational Contract Support, Day 6

Today we had a block of instruction on -- and I'm not making this up -- Money As A Weapon System (MAAWS). The idea is (or rather, was) to pay dissatisfied local nationals for the inconveniences the execution of our counter-insurgency brought upon them. [Source]

This, along, with the "Commander's Emergency Response Program" (CERP) was once a much bigger deal, but has dwindled in the years since we've taken over a less-visible role.

In the afternoon, we worked on our practical exercise, getting it ready for a presentation tomorrow morning. As my group's leader, I collected the finalized sections from the hotel, and submitted our final product at about 7:00 pm.
