Seattle trip - last day
I had to check out of my hotel by noon, but my flight wasn't until after 5:00. To kill time, I took a scenic route back to the airport by going up the west side of the Puget Sound and then taking a ferry over.
First, I went over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. I remember watching the 1940s collapse in my high school physics class.
I then drove up to Southworth and got a ferry ticket to Fauntleroy.
Cars drive onto the lower deck, and there's a lounge on the upper deck.
The scenery was great, and I even got to see some orcas surface near another ship (below right).
Once I arrived on the other side, I drove down to the airport, turned my car in, and took the shuttle to the airport.
A fine way to spend an afternoon.
