His 1980s encyclopedia

Hunter worked with people who were generally his age or younger. So when he'd see a reference he didn't get, like the 1980s "Avoid the Noid" allusion in Family Guy, he'd sometimes come to me. For his part, Hunter was my connection to Millenials. I understood their experience better because of him.

I miss the role I had in his life, and I miss his presence in mine.
