What Bishop gets wrong is that liberal ideology and secularism are EXACLTY what this country was founded on. That's what "separation of church and state" and "all men are created equal" were about.
True, there were compromises from the outset, but American liberalism represented a radical departure from European orthodoxy. Bishop's talk about "the values we need to get our country back to" sounds great, but it's 180 degrees wrong.
