Ich bin ein Berliner

In June 1963, John F. Kennedy spoke to a crowd of 120,000 in West Berlin. In his speech, he included the line, "Ich bin ein Berliner." It was a defining moment of his presidency.

Today, Wiesbaden has not only a John F. Kennedy Street, but -- just around the corner -- a Berliner Street as well. (And no, contrary to the myth going around in the pre-Internet says, he was not calling himself a jelly doughnut.) [Myth debunked]
