German Story Bunker

100 years ago this week, New York Times reporter Cyrill Brown reported on an upcoming German politician named Adolf Hitler.

Brown described him as being a persuasive speaker, but minimized his anti-Semitism. Hitler, Brown wrote, used it "as a bait to catch masses of followers and keep them aroused, enthusiastic, and in line for the time when his organization is perfected...." [Source]

So today I took my family to the "German Story Bunker," where the full horror of Hitler's reality is laid bare. There, we learned about the things that are too extreme for any high school textbook.
I came away from it further convinced that if the only things we know about history are what we learn as children, then all we ever have is a child's understanding of the world.
