In Germany, retail stores are closed on Sunday, but restaurants are sometimes open. McDonald's is a nice place to escape to because of its nice view of Maurius Platz. It also has the benefit of being open at night, which is a nice bonus.
Five Guys is nice, too, because they're generous with their french fries, and they have flavored soda with free refills (I particuarly like Coke with lime).
If you're in the mood for something moderately healthy, Norsee is the way to go, but I haven't quite gotten the hang of their menu. As you can guess, it offers more of fish options.
