Thinking for oneself is -- on the face of it -- a good thing. Critical thinking is an important skill.
But thinking for oneself is different from simply rejecting expert opinions. And I don't have enough mental bandwidth to fully explore all realms of knowledge.
So until someone comes up with a more feasible approach to life, I'm going to "outsource" the hard stuff to the experts. They may be wrong, conflicted, or simply incompletely right, but if it were all up to me, I'd be even wrong-er.
