Olympics over

Every time the Olympics comes around, I always think, "Hmm, 16 days, huh? That's not very long...."

When they do end, though, I also always think, "16 days of sports -- yeah, that's about enough for me." This year's no different -- I'm about all sported out.

The Athens Olympics must have been awesome, and one of these quadrennials I'll have to go see them -- but not in the U.S. If I'm going to go, I want to go to some international one, maybe even a Winter Olympics. I read an article by Sally Jerkins talking about the uniqueness of the setting, and it made me envious. "OH! I wanted see the games in the games in their 'original light!'" Well, maybe next time. (Italy in 2006, Beijing in 2008).
