I find it strange that there'd be signs on buildings 6 stories up, but that's one of the "rules" of Korea -- you can't be left behind. After all, as a business owner, how embarrassed would you be to not just fail, but fail because you didn't do what others has the sense to do?

Overall, I'd say my area is pretty nice. Here's a picture I took as I was walking from the subway station:
