One friend from the U.S. asked me if I was affected by the tsunami in the Indian Ocean. No, not at all, aside from the daily emotional drain of seeing the catastrophe on the news.
I would encourage anyone who wants to donate to the Red Cross but doesn't otherwise know how to check out Amazon.com. That's how I made my donation.
Also, for firsthand information about the tsunami's effect in India, you can read www.princeroy.org. He's an American vice-consul in the Chennai, India consulate. Although his area of responsibility has seen no Western causualties, his post has been deluged with whereabouts requests which he has been working on.
