Scholarship Mystery Solved

Every since I found out in April that I was receiving the Fujitsu Scholarship for my MBA program, I've been wondering -- why me?

As my interviewer put it -- you're not from Hawaii, your parents aren't from Hawaii, and though you technically have Hawaii residency, you're not even really *in* Hawaii right now (I was in Korea); why should we give you the scholarship? Well, at a recent dinner for alumni,I found out from one of the JAIMS vice presidents why I was selected.

Because I was the only one who applied.

Imagine that.
