One month birthday

Here are a couple of recent pictures of him in his grandparents’ outfit, complete with matching pacifier. SY thinks his feet are the cutest thing in the world.

P turned one month old this past week (the 27th), so my wife and I asked each other what we should do for his birthday. We didn’t think he’d understand the idea of a present, and we didn’t think it would be good to feed him cake, but we couldn’t think of anything he needed.

So we gave him a lecture.

I spoke to him about taking responsibility for his own actions – like the time when he scratched himself and cried. That wasn’t necessary. And my wife mentioned that it might be a good time to think about getting a job to help the family. We also asked him about when he might settle down and start making us some grandkids.

We had a good laugh from that.

On the 29th he had a check-up and got his first round of post-hospital inoculations (BCG for tuberculosis and hepatitis B #2). They also checked his weight and length (height?). He’s now up to 4.3 kg (nine and a half pounds), and 50cm (just shy of 20 inches).
