Yay - I finished the first week of basic training!
PT (physical training, if I haven't already explained that) in the morning – I'm still funning a 16 minture two-mile. After breakfast, we switched to ACUs and hiked to the forest for First Aid class. It was mostly about first responder stuff, like CPR, burn treatment, and dealing with wounds (one word - tourniquet). It's the kind of thing the medics (MOS - 68W) will study more in depth, but that every soldier should know.
We came back after lunch and had a class about some administrative issues, like transitioning from BCT to the second stage of training, AIT (Advanced Initial Training). After that, worked on cleaning the baby (again) and getting organized. With the free time I had, I took a long shower.
I wonder if I got paid on the 15th....
