This week was a good week to be in the Army. With Christmas on a Friday, we also got Christmas Eve off. The only days we even nominally worked were Monday through Wednesday, which were half-days.
Work hours were further reduced by an appointment my wife had on Tuesday morning, which required me to chauffeur and then take care of our son. This effectively meant I was done for the day after PT.
Wednesday was a "Safety Day." We were allowed to wear casual clothes, and for the few hours we "worked" we listened to safety briefings about driving on ice, equal opportunity regulations, and sexual harassment.
At this rate, I'm definitely staying in till retirement.
