The Super Bowl airs in Japan on Monday morning (time difference), so uniformed personnel get the day off as a "training holiday."
Civilian employees still have to work the full 8 hours, but just like the Friday after Thanksgiving, the workload is so much easier on days like this. Oh, and look at that -- somehow, there's a TV in my office.
Plus, there's the "59 minute rule," where supervisors can permit employees to leave at 4:01pm. That's what happened today, so I've got the chorus to this song going through my head right now.
