Neighborhood convenience store

The commissary is a great place. Having lived overseas without access to one while I was teaching English, I appreciate how great it is to have access to foods that I like.

Sometimes, though, I wish I had access to U.S. price, too.
Cauliflower is running at $1.49 per pound at Piggly Wiggly (a grocery store chain in the Midwest). A five-pound bag is currently $2.59. And a one-pound bag of snack carrots -- $1.59.

One day I'll get back to the U.S., and when I do, I'm going to go crazy eating vegetables.
