We respect your service, unless ...

Army lieutenant in uniform. New car, so only temporary tags. Dark windows because it was night, and they were tinted (within VA's legal limits). Driver stayed within speed limit and pulled over into a well-lit area.

But this was interpreted as "eluding police," so they treated it like a felony traffic stop -- which means guns drawn and being forced from the vehicle.

The officers weren't “willing or able to articulate why they had initiated the traffic stop.” They pepper-sprayed the 2LT, forced him from the car, and then hand-cuffed him. [Source]

Released without charges. No harm done, right?
No. "At the conclusion of this investigation, it was determined that Windsor Police Department policy was not followed," the department wrote in a statement.

The department added "This resulted in disciplinary action, and department-wide requirements for additional training were implemented beginning in January and continue up to the present. Since that time, [the officer] was also terminated from his employment." [Source]
