花火 (Fireworks)

Typically, July and August are the big "fireworks" time of year. For example, Yokohama has had a "Sparkling Twilight" fireworks in mid-July since 2011. While I don't know if they had it in 2020, and it's scheduled for mid-September this year, there's one planned for mid-July 2022.

In the meantime, people can buy firecrackers at local stores.
However, considering that most houses are zero-lots (no yard whatsoever), and Camp Zama prohibits fireworks entirely, I can understand why the past few weeks have been so quiet.

Happy Fourth of July.
