We are not meant only for hard work

There are many Biblical passages that address laziness. (Pr. 10:4, 12:27, 26:15, Heb. 6:12, 2 Thes. 3:10, etc.)

But before all those, there was a command for a day of rest. (Ex 16:23). God himself rested (Gen. 2:3).

There's a certain value to having a job, providing for one's family, and being productive, industrious, and frugal. But I like the line about how hard work ≠ happiness.

Speaking as a man and a father, work should not be the only way for me to contribute to my family and society. When that's all I do, I'm an unhappy person.
