Spaghetti tactics for Chauvin's defense

In emphasizing George Floyd's drug use, the defense's approach is to make Floyd appear more dangerous, and Derek Chauvin more sympathetic.

“It’s the same sort of victim-blaming that has been used by defense attorneys for as long as I’ve been practicing, which is 45 years,” said attorney Robert Bennet. “It’s not anything unexpected, imaginative, novel — it’s what they have to throw at the wall, so they’re throwing it.” [Source]
I'll grant Mr. Floyd was no angel, but this idea that one must have a flawless character to merit not-being-killed ... no. That's a poor defense.

Justice should not require pre-existing perfection.
