Bad timing for a postal strike

I should have known.

I ordered some furniture from Ikea last week, and it's been a real headache trying to figure out what happened to it. Delivery was spread out over two days (despite not being that much), half of it never showed up, and I've had to go to the store two days in a row to figure out what happened. Not the kind of experience I'd hoped for after paying the €50 delivery fee.

It turns out the contracted delivery company (DHL, which is owned by the German post office) is in the middle of a strike -- something that happens *a lot* here in Germany. [Source]
