What "absurd" really is

I haven't commented politically for a while, but this article inspired me. Let's put the Guantanamo detainees to work, perhaps in our flagging manufacturing sector or making license plates.

I'm sure big business would welcome the lower labor costs, and you can't really say that it's "off-shoring" since we're still technically leasing the land from Cuba. Besides, just because "they hate America" that doesn't mean they can't help us out, right? And so what about child labor laws for those detainees under 16! If Walmart can do it, then so should the federal government!
